PAMLICO COUNTY, NC (WITN) - A part of Pamlico County is under a boil water advisory after a large water leak.
County Manager Tim Buck said they started getting calls Tuesday night around 7:00 p.m. of low water pressure in the Arapahoe and Minesott Beach areas.
They discovered a leak in an 8-inch line at Don Lee Road and Kershaw Road.
Buck said the leak drained water in Arapahoe in about two hours.
The leak, which impacted about 900 residents, was fixed around 6:15 a.m.
Arapahoe Charter School canceled classes on Wednesday due to the leak, while the county issued a boil water advisory for areas that were affected.
Buck said the advisory will last for at least 24 hours as they are testing the water today to make sure there’s no contamination.
