GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Vidant Health said 99% of their employees are now compliant with its vaccine mandate.

The deadline for employees to have at least one dose of the vaccine, or an approved exemption, was Monday.

Vidant said today that 21 employees were not compliant, eight of who are contracted temporary employees.

There are 14,000 employees spread across the Vidant system.

The hospital system said it could not break down which hospitals the 21 employees were employed in because the numbers were so small that sharing location-specific information might identify the workers.

While the vaccine requirement is a condition of employment, Vidant would not say what action it took against the 21 employees.
