Two arrested in Greenville for Lenoir County robbery

LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - Two men were arrested in Greenville on Sunday for the armed robbery of a Lenoir County sweepstakes business.

The Blue Door Sweepstakes on Highway 258 North was held up just before 9:00 a.m. Sunday.

Lenoir County deputies were able to identify two suspects in the case and Greenville police nabbed both of them later that afternoon.

Cory Jones Jr. and Derrick Dixon were charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony larceny of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a stolen firearm. Jones was jailed on a $520,000 secured bond, while Dixon’s bond was set at $550,000.

Both men remain in the Lenoir County jail.
