K-9 unit leads to heroin charge on the OBX
DARE COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - Deputies say a K-9 unit led to drug charges against a woman on the Outer Banks.
The Dare County Sheriff’s Office says that a deputy stopped April Sharp, 41, of Grandy, near 808 S. Croatan Highway.
Officials say Kill Devil Hills Police assisted with the stop and brought along a K-9 which they say alerted to drugs.
Officers say heroin, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia were found.
Sharp was charged with possession of heroin. She was also cited for marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia.
She’s being held on a $6,000 secured bond.
