GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Greenville police are asking anyone who witnessed a man on a moped get struck and killed on New Years’ night to come forward.

Police say the hit & run accident happened just before 8:00 p.m. in the area of Hooker Road and West Arlington Boulevard.

They found the body of 53-year-old Floyd Barrett, Jr. lying in the middle of the road.

The Greenville man had been on a moped and the vehicle that hit him left the accident scene.

Barrett was taken to Vidant Medical Center where he later died.
