ONSLOW COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - A former employee at a senior living facility is accused of stealing more than $35,000 from a resident’s bank account.

Misty Holt, 30, of New Bern, is charged with 35 counts of felony obtaining property by false pretense, and misdemeanor possession of stolen goods.

Onslow County deputies say Holt, a former employee at the Heritage Senior Living Home in Richlands, took the victim’s debit card and began making charges.

The victim said he had lost his waller and later found fraudulent charges on his bank statement.

Deputies were alerted to the theft in early November and Holt was arrested last Wednesday.

The woman is in the Onslow County jail on a $50,000 secured bond.
