Authorities believe robberies in Chocowinity & Vanceboro related
CHOCOWINITY, N.C. (WITN) - Authorities in two counties are investigating the holdups Sunday night of two discount stores that appear related.
Chocowinity police say the Dollar General on Highway 17 was robbed by two men.
The two were wearing brown toboggans, brown coats, masks, gray pants, and white shoes.


The same men are suspected in the robbery of the Family Dollar on Main Street in Vanceboro, as well.
Major David McFadden with the Craven County Sheriff’s Office says the two hold-ups happened within an hour of each other and the two men were wearing similar clothing in both robberies.

Deputies need your help identifying two men they say robbed a Family Dollar.
Craven County deputies say it happened at the Family Dollar on Main Street in Vanceboro around 6 p.m. Sunday.
Deputies say the men involved were wearing brown toboggans, brown coats, grey pants and white shoes. The pair took off with cash, according to officials. Deputies didn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
