Towson tops ECU women’s basketball in opener, 89-81

TOWSON, Md. (WITN) – The ECU women’s basketball team rallied back from a 13-point second-half deficit but fell to Towson, 89-81, Wednesday afternoon inside SECU Arena.

The Pirates were without reigning AAC Defensive Player of the Year Lashonda Monk in the loss.

Graduate student and guard Sierra Dacosta had a huge debut for the Pirates, scoring a game-high 28 points and team-best seven rebounds in the loss.

Up next, ECU visits Virginia on Sunday, Nov. 29 for a 1 p.m. tipoff inside John Paul Jones Arena. The game will be streamed live on ACC Network Extra.
