US Airways will reduce flying and cut 1,000 jobs starting next year in a plan that will leave it focused on its four key hubs.
The airline says the job cuts will happen in the first half 2010. They will include 600 passenger and ramp service workers, 200 pilots, and about 150 flight attendants.
Once the changes are made, US Airways Group Inc. will do 99 percent of its flying through four hubs in Philadelphia, Phoenix, Charlotte, N.C., and Washington.
It will drop flying in Colorado Springs, Colo., and Wichita, Kan. And it is trimming Las Vegas flights from 64 departures per day to 36.

Well, considering they lose your luggage, frequently have delays, and sometimes faulty equipment, I don't think that reducing jobs will help this airline at all -- they need to work on restructuring what's left of their business before it completely falls apart.
