The biggest threat to your weekend fishing plans will be a wind shift Saturday into Sunday. A ridge of high pressure will settle in the second half of the week making for very hot conditions during the afternoon hours Saturday & Sunday. The best approach would be to be on the water just before sunrise (6am) or casting into the setting sun (6:30pm/7pm). This is when the bite is usually the most frequent, and of course, the time of day is the coolest.

North of Hatteras:
With the wind shift coming through this weekend it should be an interesting time in the surf. Water temperatures may have a warming trend Sunday into Monday if we can tap into the warmth. That being said, flounder is still the target fish with some Spotted Seatrout taking the bait. In the deeper water Yellowfin and Blackfin tuna seem to be on the rebound with Brian Melott reporting, "a modest improvement in frequency after a very slow period previously"

Atlantic Beach:
One fish that wasn't mentioned in the video is the Sheesphead. The thin fish has been found jumping at an assortment of fiddler crabs and sea urchins around the bridges. Additionally, anglers have been picking up some black sea bass, sailfish and wahoo in the deeper waters.
