Matt's World Of Weather: Fall Color Forecast

Why the Bob Seger reference? Earlier in the week an afternoon drive took me through a number of cities in eastern Carolina. While cruising through Scotland Neck, The Silver Bullet band helped compliment the feeling that nature was on the verge of painting something beautiful. Granted, most, if not all of the leaves were still wearing their traditional green colors, but as these days get shorter and temperatures cooler, you can't help but anticipate Nature was starting to clean off her brushes. Feel free to click on the photo portion of this post. You'll see where the canvas has already been filled and areas that still await some colorful strokes.

At the end of October we are often visited by the ugly; Halloween costumes, hideous face paint... and travel size toothpaste tubes in the bottom of the trick-or-treat bag. Fortunately, it is the middle of October that usually brings us some beauty before the ugly, cold winter. If you ever wondered why the reds, yellows, and oranges come through every season click the video. It's a neat little chemical reaction that will take you back to your elementary science class. Additionally, if you ever wanted to see someone struggle to pronounce an "elementary science class" word and even misspell it, that is included in the video as well. Enjoy!
