As we face the start of another hurricane season in just a couple of weeks, some in the east are still rebuilding after hurricane Irene nearly two years ago. A Pamlico County church is looking for some help.
Looking ahead to the 2013 hurricane season which is just over a month away, the National Weather Service says, much like last year, they expect this season to produce 12 to 13 named storms.
A bit of light, freezing rain will be possible early Friday. Isolated slick spots may develop around sunrise.
A strong cold front will move through the area this evening and into Friday morning. A few storms will be possible with much chillier air to follow.
The National Weather Service is considering how it issues severe weather watches and warnings.
