At 9:00 am Saturday Leslie was located at 28.1 N, 62.3 W, or about 960 miles to the east-southeast of Morehead City.
Leslie's winds were sustained at 65 mph and the storm was drifting north at 3 mph. Leslie is expected to pick up speed and strength by Saturday afternoon and Sunday. The current track brings Leslie just east of Bermuda by Sunday afternoon or evening with winds around 90 mph.
Although Leslie will likely stay 800+ miles off our coastline, big swells will yield 3 to 6+ foot waves through the upcoming weekend. Dangerous rip currents will be likely through at least Sunday.
Hurricane Michael's winds were sustained at 100 mph Saturday evening. Michael is now a category 2 hurricane. Michael is nearly 2000 miles off our coast and not expected to get much closer. No impact is expected from this storm.
