Hurricane Cristobal Racing Away From East Coast

Hurricane Cristobal was moving north at 26 mph late Thursday morning. As of 11:00 am Thursday, Cristobal was located at 36.9 N, 65.9 W or about 620 miles northeast of the Crystal Coast, with sustained winds of 75 mph.

The current track forecast from the National Hurricane Center keeps Cristobal well off the east coast as the storm moves into the northern Atlantic Ocean on Friday.

The North Carolina beaches will continue to experience strong rip currents on Thursday, with rapidly improving conditions on Friday.
