Tropical Depression #7 Headed to Caribbean

Tropical Depression Seven is slowly moving to the west and will move into the Caribbean over the next few days. The storm will likely slowly strengthen into Tropical Storm Gordon over the weekend.

As of 11:00 pm Friday Tropical Depression #7 was located at 13.9 N, 54.1 W or about 2,100 miles southeast of NC.

Buoy observations helped to confirm the intensity and position of this circulation. The storm was moving to the west at 24 mph, with sustained winds of 35 mph.

The official forecast from the National Hurricane Center tracks the depression due west during the weekend then dissipate the system early next week.
