SINKHOLE: Highway 264 Closed At Dare-Hyde County-Line

The D.O.T. says U.S. 264 at the Dare-Hyde County-line is closed in both directions.

A sinkhole has developed in the highway making the road impassable.

Motorists trying to get to areas south of Stumpy Point from the north should take U.S. 64 west to Highway 94 south and then take a left onto U.S. 264 east. Those trying to get north of Stumpy Point from the south should take Highway 94 north to U.S. 64 east, then turn right on U.S. 264.

The D.O.T. says the highway could be closed until noon Friday.
