Red Cross Ready To Help On OBX

Residents impacted by Hurricane Sandy along the Outer Banks will soon see more response heading their way.

Red Cross volunteers from Greenville geared up Monday morning to prepare to leave for Elizabeth City.

The Red Cross disaster relief trucks are stocked with "ready to go meals", snacks, and water. The trucks will also have tarps, cleaning supplies and relief kits for storm survivors.

There are trailers with food and water in Dare County, as well as Elizabeth City, for distribution once emergency management has given the all clear to move as many as 160 emergency vehicles and more than 230,000 ready-to-eat meals into the area.
