Exotic Bird Walks Down Windsor Street During Irene

People saw a strange sight as Irene moved through Bertie County.

An emu took a stroll down the street in Windsor.

The Livermon Park & Mini-Zoo is located in Windsor and their website notes they have buffaloes, llamas, peacocks, alpacas, long horn sheep, ostriches and emus.

While we do not have confirmation, the assumption is the bird is from the zoo. No word on where he or she is now.
