North Carolina Gets $23 Million For Irene Road Repair

North Carolina will get more than $23 million to help cover the costs of repairing roads and bridges damaged by Hurricane Irene in 2011.

The money comes from the Federal Highway Administration's Emergency Relief Program. A total of $1.58 billion is being given to 30 states and other locations.

The federal government will reimburse these areas for costs associated with repairing roads and bridges.

California received the largest allotment, more than $3.25 billion, for a mudslide and two storms.
