Minimal Concern For Now Along The Coast Over Emily

Storm season is upon us here in the East-- and there's a rotation in the Atlantic attracting some attention-- but is it worth any concern?

Wednesday was a great beach day at Atlantic Beach-- the last thing on most people's minds is a tropical storm hundreds of miles away-- but truth is, it could be here in a couple days.

We're still five days away from the point when Emily is relatively closer to us, so the forecast models have a skewed path. The experts say best case scenario-- there's a great swell for surfers. Worst case scenario, strong winds blowing off the water.

But for the locals we talked to, their concern level is pretty tempered- -they've seen this kind of prediction before-- so they are waiting for Emily to hit a few progress marks before they get worried. Indian Beach resident Benny Perry says, "Once it gets past Florida we'll start looking at it then and see what happens. We'll take it as it comes."

4 dozen eggs, 3 gallons of milk, 2 loaves of bread, 3 cases of bottled water, 2 of every battery known to man, case of candles, bathtub full of water, freezer filled with ice, car filled with gas, cash withdrawn for emergencies.
