LCC Ready To Open As Shelter If Needed

Lenoir Community College says the Red Cross has asked it to be on standby as a shelter location in Lenoir County.

The college says if the shelter opens, people will stay in the gymnasium, and their pets will be housed next door in the old maintenance building, where a few carriers, cat litter and food has already been dropped off.

The college says it will be ready to go when and if the Red Cross needs the shelter space.

If the shelter does open, the Red Cross asks that people bring pillows and blankets, medications and other special items they might need, along with a carriers, food and water containers for their pets.
