Groups Seeking Donations During Kinston Indians Last Stand

Friday night will mark the end of an era as the Kinston Indians play their final game at Grainger Stadium.

The minor league professional baseball team was sold and is moving next year to Zebulon.

A big crowd is expected at the stadium for the Indians last stand, so several agencies are hoping those fans help out with Hurricane Irene relief efforts.

The American Red Cross and Harvest Connection will both be at the came seeking monetary donations to help with disaster assistance.

Lenoir County is one of nine in the state designated by FEMA as major disaster areas because of damage from the hurricane.
