ECU : Parking Lots Closing, Sets Up Storm Call Center For Parents

East Carolina University is closing several parking lots because of the possibility of flooding from Hurricane Irene.

*CH-03 Bottom of College Hill - The lot will be closed at the two entrances from College Hill Drive at 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26. Vehicles will not be allowed into the area beginning at 2:30 p.m.

*AC-01 Bottom lot of Minges - The lot will be closed at the three entrances from Charles, Ficklen Drive and Pirates Walk.

*Portions of Ficklen Drive may be closed to traffic due to high waters as needed. Entrance to the top Minges lots would be from Berkley Drive.

The university says the lots will reopen by 7 a.m. Monday if possible.

ECU has also set up a call center for concerned parents.

Parents who have questions can call 252-737-5100 between 2 and 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25 and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The university says classes on Friday will end at 3:00 p.m.
