As of 5:00 am Friday Tropical Depression Bret was located at 36.7 N, 66.5 W, or about 550 miles off our coastline. Bret's winds were holding at 35 mph. Bret was moving to the northeast at 21 mph. The storm will likely dissipate over the Atlantic by late Friday.

At 5:00 am Friday, Tropical Storm Cindy was located at 44.5 N, 39.9 W, or about 2000 miles east-northeast of the US coast. The storm had sustained winds of 50 mph, and was racing northeastward at 30 mph. The storm will likely weaken late Friday as it moves over colder waters.

Showers and storms are picking up from the Antilles out into the lower Atlantic. A stronger tropical wave to the east of the Windward Islands has a slight chance of developing over the weekend.
