Days after Hurricane Irene took of the end of the Bogue Inlet Fishing Pier in Emerald Isle, it reopened.

It's a sign of hope and recovery as fishermen lined the pier Wednesday, just like they had the day before Irene moved through the East.

During the storm 225 of its 1000-feet was lost on the end of the pier and was was swept out to sea.

There are plans to rebuild the full length of the pier over the winter.

It's slated to reopen at full length in the spring of 2012.
