Ahead Of Hanna: Torrential Rains

Hanna may have been hundreds of miles away Friday afternoon, but her heavy bands of rain already caused flooding in Eastern Carolina.

Heavy rains pounded parts of Beaufort and Pitt counties, clogging roads with water.

In Washington, just after 4 p.m., standing water at the intersection of Highways 17 and 264 caused cars to throw up plumes of water as they moved through. (See story photo)

Several Greenville roadways also had standing water.
