Beaufort County Enacts State Of Emergency At Noon: Curfew In Effect At 1130PM

Beaufort County Emergency Management Tells WITN a state of emergency will be initiated county-wide at Noon Friday. The Beaufort County state of emergency dictates driving between 11:30 Friday night and 6:00 Saturday morning will be prohibited. Emergency Management is also requesting the voluntary evacuation of Beaufort County residents in areas prone to flooding. A shelter was scheduled to open at Northside High School at 6:00 pm.

    The proclomation states it is unlawful not voluntary to be out driving.

    Everybody is acting like this some kind of superstorm.Its just a tropical storm.Weve had thunderstorms with a bigger punch.I think nbc has a deal cut with foodlion.And who has the right to tell me when and if im allowed to leave my house.Freedom my a#@#.Were living in a communist country and dont even realize it.

    I just spoke to the Washington PD and it is mandatory. 100.00 fine and cost of court if out after 11:30.

    The word is that the no driving after 11:30 pm tonight is mandatory. Is this a fact?
