Onslow County is among the vulnerable areas of eastern Carolina as Hanna approaches.
The county will open shelters Friday afternoon. There's also a curfew starting at 7:30 Friday night.
The emergency operations center has already put up aluminum hurricane shutters on the building and have been conducting two briefings a day to prepare for Hanna.
Emergency officials, law enforcement, schools, the Red Cross, and local hospital officials all have their plans in place and are ready for the storm. Officials also say you need to do your part by putting together an emergency kit.
