People all across Eastern Carolina are preparing for what Hanna may bring, that includes students at ECU.

And for many of them, this will be the first time they have ever experienced tropical weather. For students out of state and who aren't from coastal areas, this will be their first taste of hurricane season. But some we talked with say they're heeding the warnings.

Many students are hoping the rain and bad weather will hold off this weekend so they can cheer on the Pirates against West Virginia.

Football is our life here. And plus a big name like West Virginia playing against our Pirates...what more could you ask for. Wear your boots, it's gonna be wet!!

Why does it appear that football is of more importance than the possibility of severe damage and loss of life???????????
