Josephine Is A Tropical Depression

UPDATE:
Josephine is now very unorganized and at this time is no threat to land. We will monitor Josephine for any development, although none is expected.

PREVIOUS STORY:
Josephine is now a Tropical Depression with winds of 35 mph as of 8 a.m. Saturday and movement to the WNW at 7 mph.

This storm is expected to continue to the NW over the next few days and remain either a depression or a weak tropical storm. It remains well out in the Atlantic and is no threat to land.

As of 11 a.m., the National Hurricane Center says maximum sustained winds are near 45 miles per hour.

The storm is moving west-northwest at 10 miles per hour. That track is expected for the next couple of days.

PREVIOUS STORY: Tropical Storm Josephine is moving to the west at 12 miles per hour.

It is still located far out in the Atlantic and is expected to continue to move to the west over the next couple of days.

Its current wind speed is 50 miles per hour. Pressure is 1000 mb. Further weakening is expected tomorrow.

It is still located far out in the Atlantic and is expected to continue to move to the west over the next couple of days. Its current wind speed is 65 mph and has a pressure of 994mb. Slow strengthening is possible over the next couple of days.

Tropical Storm Josephine's winds were near 60 miles per hour at 5 a.m. Wednesday morning, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Josephine remains a great distance from the U.S., about 220 miles from the Cape Verde Islands.

Some strengthening is forecast in the next 24 hours.
