A cold front brought rain to eastern Carolina Tuesday. The front will push east and offshore allowing colder air to filter into the area during the afternoon. Most well inland areas will see temperatures drop through the 40s during the afternoon with cold northerly winds. Coastal areas will see temperatures drop from the 70s to the 40s by sunset.
Clearing skies can be expected Tuesday night as temperatures dip into the upper 20s to lower 30s. Sunshine and chilly temperatures will dominate the end of the week with highs in the 40s and lows in the 20s Wednesday through Friday.
