Dupiln, Greene, Lenoir, Martin and Pitt counties will be under a freezing rain advisory from 4am to 1pm on Monday. Beaufort, Craven, Jones and Washington counties will be under the advisory from 4am to 10am.
A stagnant and moist air mass will remain across eastern Carolina through Tuesday. A few showers and isolated thunderstorms can be expected. Locally heavy rainfall will occur in some of the showers. Temperatures will remain warm with afternoon highs in the middle 80s. Slightly drier air will return to the area Tuesday night and Wednesday with only a stray shower expected. Highs on Wednesday afternoon will likely reach the upper 80s. A cold front will give our area a better chance for showers on Thursday.
