A winter weather advisory has been issued for all of eastern Carolina except Carteret, Onslow, and Duplin counties through 4am Friday. Light freezing rain and sleet will be possible.
Warm and moist conditions will continue across eastern Carolina through Thursday and Friday. Afternoon highs will hit the upper 80s with heat indices in the lower to middle 90s. A few storms will develop during the late morning and afternoon. More of the same can be expected on Friday ahead of a cold front that will finally sweep moisture away from the area. The weekend promises to be mainly sunny and warm with highs in the middle 80s.
