Periods of rain Sunday night and Monday. Heavier rain could bring another 1 to 3 inches of rain to a few locations late Sunday and into Monday afternoon.
Temperatures will soar into the 90s again on Wednesday as the Bermuda Ridge continues pushing hot southwesterly winds into our area. There will be a slim chance at an afternoon storm on Wednesday.
The ridge will weaken as a cold front approaches from the northwest Wednesday night and Thursday. Showers and storms will be increasing, with some locally heavy rainfall likely Thursday into Friday as the front stalls over eastern North Carolina. The cloud cover and showers will keep highs in the upper 80s both days.
Slightly drier air will push into our area over the weekend with more sunshine and only isolated afternoon storms. Highs will be near 90 degrees both Saturday and Sunday.
