This past weekend the showers and storms were widely scattered with most areas receiving very little rainfall.
The showers and storms will overspread much more real estate this week as a cold front approaches from the northwest and stalls over the area.
As this front interacts with the warm and humid air expect a good coverage of storms each day.
Some of the storms will produce locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds.
The severe threat will be minimal but a few strong to severe storms will be possible.
The main threats with any of the stronger storms will be heavy rainfall, winds up to 60 mph, and frequent lightning.
With the front stalled over the area expect 40-50% coverage of storms for most of the week.
With the increased cloud cover and rain chances expect temperatures to be slightly cooler with highs generally in the middle to upper 80s.
Have a great week.
