Previous Story

Unseasonably warm temperatures will continue across eastern Carolina through Friday as afternoon highs reach the upper 70s in many locations. Skies should remain partly cloudy through the day with gusty southwesterly winds at 15 to 20 mph.

A cold front will approach the area by early Saturday causing increasing clouds with the threat for showers by sunrise. There will be a chance for showers through Sunday as the front becomes stationary just off the North Carolina coast. Temperatures will be in the upper 50s near sunrise Saturday then drop into the 40s by mid afternoon. More showers are on tap for Sunday with highs not getting much out of the mid 40s.
