The National Weather Service says an EF-0 tornado touched down near Trenton in Jones County around 4:20 p.m. Tuesday. The twister touched down three separate times over a five mile path.
The most significant damage from the tornado was a greenhouse that was destroyed, and damage to a shed, outbuilding and vehicle. No injuries were reported.
EF-0 tornadoes have winds between 65 and 85 miles per hour.
Much of Eastern Carolina was under a tornado watch on Tuesday afternoon.
