Sunshine And Mild On Thursday Across Eastern North Carolina

Slightly cooler and drier air will filter into eastern North Carolina Thursday behind a cold front. The front brought showers and some strong thunderstorms to the area on Wednesday afternoon and evening. Rainfall totals by 10:00 p.m. Wednesday evening were as follows:

Elizabeth City - 2.38"
Edenton - 2.37"
Roanoke Rapids - 1.84
Greenville - 1.80"
Kinston - 1.06"
Goldsboro - .98"
Washington - .56"
Jacksonville - .53"
Kenansville - .44"
Cape Hatteras - .32"
New Bern - .25"

Abundant sunshine will take high temperatures into the 70s the next few days. There is little or no chance of rain through the upcoming weekend.
