Sunshine And Hot Across Eastern North Carolina On Wednesday

High pressure centered near eastern North Carolina Tuesday night will act as a heat pump for the next few days. We will see lots of sunshine with only a stray shower or two. High temperatures will soar as winds become light southwesterly on Wednesday. Afternoon readings will hit the lower 90s inland while the beaches top out in the middle 80s. We may even see a few middle 90s by Thursday afternoon. It continues to be rather dry and little relief is seen until late Friday or Saturday when a few showers or thunderstorms could develop.
