A winter weather advisory has been issued for all of eastern Carolina except Carteret, Onslow, and Duplin counties from 6pm Thursday through 4am Friday. Light freezing rain and sleet will be possible.
As high pressure builds over the area, sunshine and blue skies will be the norm for the upcoming week. Temperatures will remain cooler than the seasonal average, hovering in the mid to upper 70s throughout the week.
The pattern should hold through the upcoming weekend with highs nearing 80° and continued mostly sunny skies.
