Under thin clouds, temperatures will reach the mid 50s during the afternoon New Year's Day. Clouds thicken later in the day. An area of low pressure will develop off the coast and spread some rain from south to north to most locations east of Interstate 95 overnight. The light rain will continue into Thursday before tapering off at night. Temperatures will be in the 50s again Thursday with much colder air Thursday night into Friday. We should see lots of chilled sunshine on Friday.
