Slightly drier air is following a cold front that pushed through eastern Carolina Monday afternoon and evening. The front increased shower activity and left as much as 4 to 6 inches of rain in some portions of the Crystal Coast. The front will push offshore and weaken a bit Tuesday bringing somewhat drier conditions and more sunshine to the area. Only a stray shower or two is expected. Afternoon highs will reach the upper 80s except middle 80s on the beaches. Another cold front will bring a better chance for showers and storms on Thursday.
