Snow, sleet and freezing rain are possible in Eastern Carolina Friday. As of Thursday morning, the forecast shows accumulations between a dusting to an inch in most parts of Eastern Carolina. A few places could receive higher amounts. The wintry precipitation is expected during the day Friday.
Warm and generally sunny conditions will continue across eastern Carolina on Thursday. Afternoon highs will be close to 90° inland and upper 70s to near 80° on the beaches. Friday will still be quite warm with highs in the middle to upper 80s. We may see some isolated showers and thunderstorms by Friday afternoon and evening. There will be a better chance for a few storms over the weekend. Slightly cooler air will be felt over the weekend with highs near 80° or lower 80s.
