Some moderation of the cold can be expected over the weekend. Sunday's skies will stay mostly cloudy with periodic showers spread across the region. Highs will get in to the mid 60s in the afternoon.
Another frigid blast will arrive Monday into Tuesday of next week with temperatures unlikely to get above freezing for at least 36 hours. We could see lows nearly 20° below average and in the lower to middle teens by Tuesday morning. A few records could be broken with this impending cold front.
