A winter weather advisory is in effect until 7am on Saturday for Beaufort, Mainland Hyde, Martin, Outer Banks Dare, Tyrrell, Washington and western Dare County. The threats are black ice and slick roadways.
Milder air will gradually overspread eastern Carolina over the next 24 to 48 hours. Highs Friday afternoon will be in the mid to upper 40s helping with the melting process. Mostly sunny skies can be expected through the day.
Even warmer air will move in over the weekend with upper 50s Saturday climbing into the middle 60s on Sunday under partly to mostly cloudy skies. We may see a stray shower Sunday afternoon with much better rain chances arriving on Monday.
