A warm wedge of air will move into eastern Carolina Wednesday and stick around through Friday. Afternoon highs will reach the lower 80s inland with lower 70s along the immediate coast. There will be lots of sunshine especially today and Friday. Thursday will see some increase in cloud cover with a chance for a few showers near the Virginia border. The northeast part of the state will be cooler with highs in the 60s, while the majority of the area has highs near 80.
