On and off quick downpours will be possible through Sunday afternoon. Heavier rain could bring another 1 to 3 inches of rain to a few locations late Sunday and into Monday afternoon.
Warm and dry conditions will continue across eastern Carolina on Wednesday. Southwesterly winds will help push afternoon highs into the lower to middle 80s. The air will be moderately dry so only a few clouds are likely to develop. Afternoon readings will push back into the 80s on Thursday ahead of a cold front. The cold front will cross the area on Friday producing a few showers and thunderstorms. Clearing and slightly cooler conditions can be expected for the weekend.
