A winter weather advisory has been issued for all of eastern Carolina except Carteret, Onslow, and Duplin counties from 6pm Thursday through 4am Friday. Light freezing rain and sleet will be possible.
Warm temperatures have returned to eastern Carolina after a prolonged absence. High temperatures on Monday were near 80° in most inland communities. Lots of sunshine can be expected on Tuesday as highs inch upward into the lower 80s except lower 70s along the beaches. It will be breezy at times with southwesterly winds at 8 to 15 mph. The dry and warm conditions will continue through Thursday. By Friday a cold front could bring showers and a few thunderstorms to the area.
