Drier and slightly cooler air pushed into eastern Carolina Thursday night following a cold front that moved offshore during the day. The drier air will give the area lots of sunshine and lower relative humidity levels on Friday. Afternoon highs will reach the middle 80s but lower humidity levels will make the warmth more tolerable. Moisture will be on the increase by late Saturday and Sunday. Scattered showers and storms may develop by Sunday afternoon. High temperatures will average in the upper 80s over the weekend, with overnight lows close to 70°.
