After a cool start, temperatures will rebound quickly on Thursday as afternoon highs reach around 70 degrees under sunny skies.
High pressure will move offshore Thursday night shifting winds to the southwest. Warmer readings will move into the area on Friday as we hit the upper 70s. A few showers and storms will dot the region by Friday afternoon and evening, with coverage around 40% to 50%.
Sunny skies will return Saturday as temperatures hit the lower 80s. A weak cold front will cross eastern Carolina Saturday night bringing slightly cooler air for Sunday. Dry conditions should prevail over the weekend. A better chance for showers and storms will arrive by the early to middle portion of next week.
